How to filter spam from Yahoo mail accounts

Are spam still making it to your Yahoo mail inbox? Spammers are getting smarter and they always figure out how to beat the built in filters offered by internet email providers like Yahoo. Yahoo Mail provides a filter feature that enables you add your human intelligence to the built-in spam filter. It enables you use your knowledge of spam as it affects you to automatically remove spam. Yahoo mail enables you create spam filters that will automatically send spammy mails to your Yahoo Trash. For example if you are getting unsolicited emails on your Yahoo mail inbox containing words like 'Viagra' or 'Lottery' in the subject or body, you can create a filter for the keywords and command Yahoo mail to send them to Trash, so that any incoming mail containing those words will be automatically sent to trash. If you also notice spam from specific senders, you can simply filter the sender. Remember that your Yahoo mail spam filter is as intelligent as you make it. For it to work well you need to put a lot of thought in it. Look at all the spam emails currently getting through to your Yahoo Mail inbox and see what they have in common. Then use this knowledge to create filters that will enable you considerably reduce spam in your Yahoo mail inbox. Note that you can create multiple filters. To setup a spam filter on Yahoo mail: 1) click on the Options link: one of the top left links in your Yahoo mail view, a drop down menu will appear 2) Click on Mail Options on the drop down menu 3) click Filters. 4) Click on Add 5) Enter the Name for the filter (make it self explanatory) 6) Set your filter criteria 7) Set where the incoming spam should be sent to (preferably Trash) Be careful when setting up spam filters for any error in logic can result in potentially valuable emails ending up in Trash.
