Does a central-air system work faster if you set the temperature higher

Does a central-air system work faster if you set the temperature higher than what you want? For example, let's say it's 60° now, and I want to heat the house to 68°. If I set it to 75° will it get to 68° faster? I'm not gonna use my heater until you clear this up so please answer soon because I'm cold.

Energy monitoring
