It will scan your PC for compatibility issues. After running the Upgrade Assistant, you will be presented with an option to buy, download, and install Windows 8. Every other thing is intuitive from then on.

Windows 8 is backward compatible to Windows XP. So, your files will transfer seamlessly to Windows 8. However, you will have to reinstall your applications if you want to access the files as applications on your Windows XP computer will not be transferred to Windows 8.

To upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows XP, you need a debit card with at least $39.99 balance to pay for the Windows 8 installer. Currently the price for Windows 8 Pro upgrade is $39.99 (N6,500). You will also need a high speed internet access and enough data balance on your internet plan.
