Windows Phone to Become Fastest Growing Mobile OS
CNET reports on a recent report by IDC in which they predict that Windows Phone could be the only major OS that will grow in market share in the next couple of years. According to the IDC's Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker , Windows Phone's global market share could rise from 3.9% this year to 7% in 2018, most of its market share gains could be at the expense of Android's.
According to the forecast the market share for Android could drop from 78.9% this year to 76% in 2018, while iOS could suffer a decline from 14.9% this year to 14.4% in 2018.
