edited December 1969 in Operating Systems
Windows Phone 7 is now available on mobile phones in Europe with its debut in the United States coming up on November 8, 2010 with the Samsung Focus. Three Windows Phone 7 mobile phones are currently available in Europe. They are the Samsung Focus, HTC Surround, and LG Quantum all on the AT&T network. Windows 7 Phone is an attempt by Microsoft to gain some relevance in the highly competitive but lucrative smartphone market.

Windows Phone 7 is a fresh start by Microsoft. It shares very little in common with previous Microsoft Mobile OS. For starters, the start button is gone and Microsoft has created a new interface called Metro. The Windows Phone 7 interface consists of Tiles, which are shortcuts to Apps, features, and other items on the phone. Tiles are visible on the Windows 7 homescreen and can be added, re-arranged, or removed by the user. Tiles can be updated real-time.

Windows Phone 7 is has multi-touch support and native support for Facebook and Windows Live. Like all new platforms, Microsoft Windows 7 has very few apps in the marketplace.
The Truth is Out There.
