• The chair of inec blamed the postponement on vendors that refuses to deliver the ballot papers and result sheet,ec8a
The vendors blamed the disaster in japan for unavailability of boeing aircraft
 • it was postponed due to the non availability of the result sheet in a lot of states
 • Non-availability of some sensitive electroral materials.
 • His reasons were :

1. The unavailability of some electoral materials/stationery [ballot papers, result sheets] required for the election process.
2. This was due to the Vendors not supplying them in time for the election.
3. The Vendors blamed the ongoing crisis in Japan for disrupting the flow of goods.
 • The election date has been postponed to april 9 because result sheet for the election were not supplied with other election materials to some states
 • Logistic challenge ,Late delivery of election materials (result sheet)
 • Logistics Challenge (Because, it was postponed due to the non availability of the result sheet in some states)
the result sheet came in late on the eve of the election
 • 1.Logistic challanges as election materials such as result sheets, ballot papers and ballot boxes were not available in most states of the federation, due to lapses from vendors who in turn blamed it on the disaster in japan which make aircraft unavailable.2.In many places INEC officials did not report at the pollin units, making it difficult to implement the open ballot procedure earlier adopted.thus it becomes neccessary for the election to postpone inorder to maintain transparancy in the election.
 • According to Jega, the "reason for posponement is the unanticipated emergency with late arrival of results sheet in many parts of the country. The results are central to the elections and their integrity"
 • The reason for this is that the unanticipated emergency we have
experienced with late arrival of result
sheets in many parts of the country. The result sheets are central to the
elections and their integrity.
Accordingly, in many places, our
officials have not reported at the polling
units, making it now difficult to
implement the Modified Open Ballot Procedure that we have adopted. Not
only do we have to enter the results in
the sheets, the number of accredited
voters is also to be entered in the result
sheet. While we could have proceeded
with the elections in a few States of the country, where all the materials are
available, such as Lagos, Kaduna,
Kebbi, Delta, Zamfara and Enugu,
among others, in order to maintain the
integrity of the elections and retain
effective overall control of the process, the Commission has taken the difficult
but necessary decision to postpone the
National Assembly elections to
Monday, April 4, 20
