Bowen University has announced its post UTME screening date for 2012/2013 admission. The date for Bowen University post UTME screening for 2012 will come-up on May 12, 2012. Bowen has released the courses that will be offered by the university and the admission requirement for the courses.<br /><br />Bowen University Post UTME 2012<br /><br />(A) COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES<br /><br />1.  Degree Options<br /><br />      B.Sc. Anatomy (3 or 4 Year Programme)<br /><br />      B.Sc. Physiology (3 or 4 Year Programme)<br /><br />      Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) ( 6 Year Programme)  <br /><br />2.  Admission Requirements<br /><br />(i)  O’ Level Subjects<br /><br />      Candidates must possess five O' Level credits in English Language, <br />      Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology,  <br />      For MBBS programme, the five (5) O’Level credits must be obtained at  one sitting.<br /><br />(B) FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE (4 or 5 Year Programme)<br /><br />1.  Degree Programme Options<br /><br />      (a)  B. Agric. <br /><br />            (i)    Agricultural Economics and Farm Management<br /><br />            (ii)    Agricultural Extension and Rural Development<br />            (iii)  Animal Science and Fisheries Management<br />            (iv)  Crop Production and Soil Management<br /><br />      (b)  B. Forestry and Environmental Technology<br />  <br />      (c)  B.Sc. Food Science and Technology<br /><br /><br />  2.  Admission Requirements<br /><br />(i)  O’ Level Subjects<br /><br />      Candidates must have five O' Level credits to include: English Language, <br />      Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science,  Chemistry and one of Physics, <br />      Geography or Economics. For Food Science and Technology, at least  a Pass in <br />      Physics is required.<br /><br />(ii)  Direct Entry<br /><br />          (a)  NCE/ND or approved equivalent in relevant fields.<br /><br />          (b)  At least two Advanced Level passes to include Chemistry and any one of the following:<br />                  Biology/Botany, Zoology/Agricultural Science. Economics, Physics and Geography.<br />          (c)  IJMB International Baccalaureate at acceptable grade levels.<br /><br />            (d)  Bowen Foundation  Year Programme (BFP)<br />            (e)  In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in 2(i) above. <br /><br />(C)    FACULTY OF HUMANITIES <br /><br />    1.    GENERAL<br /><br />(i)    All applicants are required to have credits in at least five O`Level (5) subjects at SSCE, <br />        GCE, NECO, or approved equivalent.<br />(ii)  The five (5) credits must include English language and other specific departmental requirements                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              (iii)  The five credits  must be obtained at not more than two sittings.<br />(iv)  Candidates awaiting result may also apply<br /><br />1.  Department of English <br /><br />      (i)  Degree Programme Option<br /><br />            B.A.English<br /><br />    (ii)  Admission Requirements <br /><br />(a)      O` Level Subjects<br /><br />      The five O`Level credits to include English Language, Literature- in-English plus at <br />      least one other Arts subject and any other subject.<br /><br />(b)    Direct entry<br /><br />        (i)  At Least two Advanced Level passes or equivalent in Literature and one other Arts subject.<br />        (ii)  IJMB/International Baccalaureate Certificate at acceptable grade levels.<br />        (iii)  Bowen Foundation Year Programme (BFYP)<br />        (iv)  In addition, candidates  must satisfy the O`Level requirements as stated in (ii) above.<br /> <br />2.  Department of History and International Studies<br /><br />      (i)  Degree  Programme Option<br /><br />            B.A. History<br /><br />    B.A. History and International Studies<br /><br />      (ii)  Admission Requirements <br /><br />      (a)    O` Level Subjects<br /><br />              The five O`Level credits to include English Language, History or Government plus at least two other Arts or Social  Science  subjects.<br /><br />      (b)    Direct Entry<br /><br />              (i)    At Least two Advanced Level passes or equivalents in Government and one other Arts or  Social Science subject.<br />            (ii)    IJMB/International Baccalaureate Certificate at acceptable grade levels.<br />            (iii)  Bowen Foundation Year Programme (BFYP) <br />            (iv)  In addition candidates must satisfy the O`Level requirements as stated in (ii) above.<br /><br />3. Department of Communication and Performing Arts<br /><br />(A)  Degree Programme Options<br /><br />      B.A. Communication Arts<br />      B. A. Theatre Arts<br />      B.A. Music.<br /><br />(ii) Admission Requirements<br /><br />(a)  O`Level subject<br /><br />      The five O`Level credits to include  English Language, Literature-in-English and three <br />      other Arts or Social Science subjects.<br /><br />(b) Direct Entry<br /><br />    (i)    At least two Advanced Level passes in Literature and one other Arts subject.<br />  (ii)    IJMB/International Baccalaureate Certificate at acceptable grade levels .<br />  (iii)    Bowen Foundation Year Programme (BFYP)<br />  (iv)    In addition, candidates must satisfy the O`Level requirements as stated in (ii) above.<br />    <br />(B)  B.A. Music<br /><br />(ii) Admission Requirements<br /><br />        ‘O’ Level Subjects<br /><br />The five O`Level credits to include English Language. A recognized Certificate in Music will <br />be an advantage.<br /><br />4.  Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies    <br /><br />    (i) Degree Programme Options<br /><br />          B. A. Philosophy<br />          B.A. Christian Religious Studies<br /><br />    (ii) Admission Requirements<br /><br />(a)  O`Level Subjects<br /><br />      The five O`Level credits must include English Language , Christian Religious Knowledge <br />      and three  other relevant subjects.<br /><br />(D)  FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND SCIENCE EDUCATION (3 or 4 Year Programme)<br /><br />GENERAL <br /><br />Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Science and  Science Education must possess a minimum of five (5) Ordinary level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in addition to specific departmental requirements.<br /><br />(1)  Department of Biological Sciences<br />        <br />        (i)    Degree Programme  Options<br /><br />  B.Sc. Biochemistry<br /><br />      (ii) Admission Requirements<br /><br />(a)    O’ Level Subjects<br />        The five O’ Level credits to include: English  Language, Mathematics,  Chemistry, Physics  and Biology.<br /><br />(b)    Direct Entry<br />(i)    At least two GCE Advanced Level passes  in Chemistry, and  either  Mathematics or Physics, <br />                      (ii)    IJMB/NCE/ND/International Bacaulaurete or approved equivalent.<br /> (iii)  Bowen Foundation Year Programnme.<br /> (iv)  In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in ii (a) above.<br />                                              <br /> (3)  Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry<br /><br /><br />      (i)  Degree Programme  Options<br /><br />    B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry.<br /><br />      <br />      (ii)  Admission Requirements <br /><br />(a)    O’ Level Subjects<br /><br />The five O’ Level subjects to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, <br />Biology and Physics.<br /><br />      (b)  Direct Entry<br /><br />              (i)    At least two GCE Advanced Level passes in Chemistry, and either Mathematics or <br />                      Physics. <br />              (ii)    IJMB/NCE/ND or approved equivalent.<br />              (iii)    Bowen Foundation Year Programme<br />              (iv)    In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in ii(a) above.<br /><br />(4)  Department of Computer Science and Information Technology<br /><br />          (i)  Degree Programme Option<br /><br />      B.Sc. Computer Science.  <br /><br />          (ii) Admission Requirements <br /><br />              (a)  O’ Level Subjects<br /><br />        The five O’ Level subjects to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and <br />        any two from Further Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, <br />        Geography,  Economics and Technical Drawing.<br /><br />              (b)  Direct Entry<br />                    (i)    At least two GCE Advanced Level passes to include Mathematics and Physics<br />                    (ii)    IJMB/NCE/ND or approved equivalent <br />                    (iii)  Bowen Foundation Year Programme (BFYP).<br />                    (iv)    In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated above.<br /><br />(5)  Department of  Mathematics and Statistics<br /><br />      (i)  Degree Programme  Options<br /><br />B.Sc. Mathematics; Statistics.<br /><br />      (ii)  Admission Requirements <br /><br />(a) ‘ O’ Level Subjects<br />      The five O’ Level credits to include English Language, Mathematics,  and any other three <br />      subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, <br />      Geography, Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing<br /><br />(b)  Direct Entry<br />      (i)    At least two GCE  Advanced Level passes to include  Mathematics and any one of  <br />              Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Statistics and Physics.<br />      (ii)  IJMB/NCE/ND/International Baccalaureate or approved equivalent<br />      (iii)  Bowen Foundation Year Program me<br />      (iv)  In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in <br />                ii (a) above                        <br />      (v)    For Statistics, a diploma in Statistics from a recognized  university is acceptable<br />                            <br />(6)  Department of Physics and Solar Energy<br /><br />      (i)      Degree Programme Options <br /><br />              B. Sc. Physics with Solar Energy.<br />                      <br />          (a)    Admission Requirements <br /><br />              ‘O’ Level Subjects<br /><br /> The five O’ Level subjects to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry <br />  and any one of  Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography,  Technical  Drawing, Further <br />  Mathematics and  Foods and Nutrition<br />                <br />(i)    Direct Entry<br />        (a)    At least two GCE  Advanced Level passes in Mathematics and Physics.<br />        In exceptional cases, Physics and Chemistry may be considered. <br />        (b)    IJMB/NCE/ND/International Baccalaureate or  approved equivalent.  <br />        (c)    Bowen Foundation Year Programme<br />        (d)  In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated above.<br /><br />(E)  FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES <br />      (3 or 4 Year Programme)<br />  (d)  In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level  requirements as stated in (ii)  above.<br />General Entry Requirements<br /><br />Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences must possess a minimum of five (5) Ordinary level Credit Passes to include English Language and Mathematics in addition to specific departmental requirements.<br /><br />(1)  Department of Accounting<br /><br />              (i)    Degree Programme Option<br /><br />            B.Sc. Accounting<br />      <br />            (ii)  Admission Requirements <br /><br />            (a)  O’ Level Subjects<br /><br />The five O’ Level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one other Social Science subject and any other subject.<br /><br />            (iii)    Direct Entry<br /><br />(a)    At least two  passes at GCE  Advanced Level, to include Economics and any one of Government, Geography, Mathematics, Business Method and  Economic History. <br />(b)    IJMB/NCE/ND/ATS of ICAN or approved equivalent.<br />(c)    Bowen Foundation Year Programme<br /><br />(a)  Bowen Foundation Year Programme<br />(2)  Department of Banking and Finance<br /><br />      (i)  Degree Programme Option <br /><br />B.Sc. Banking and Finance<br />      <br />      (ii)  Admission Requirements <br /><br />(a)    ‘O’ Level Subjects<br /><br /> The five ‘O’ Level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one other  Social Science subject and any other subject.<br /><br />    (iii)    Direct Entry<br /><br />(b)  At least two  GCE Advanced Level passes  as  in  Accounting,<br />(c)  IJMB/NCE/ND/Banking CertificateCIBN course or approved equivalent.<br />(d)  In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated  in (ii) above..<br /><br />(3)  Department of Business Administration<br /><br />      (i)  Degree  Programme Options<br /><br />B.Sc.
